Hard Road Theatre is proud to announce auditions for our Winter production: DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, based upon the movie starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin. Auditions will be held November 25th & November 26th at 7:00 p.m. in the chorus room at the Highland Upper Elementary School, 1800 Lindenthal Avenue, Highland, IL (signs will be posted on the door). Please come prepared with a Broadway style piece to sing and be prepared to do a short dance routine. An accompanist will be provided and no recordings will be allowed. Also, please be aware of any potential conflicts from November 26th, 2013-February 9th, 2014. There are several parts for men and women of varying ages. DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS will be directed by Gentry Nessel.

There’s something strange happening over at the Frankenstein Place. We’re not exactly sure what. It has something to do with a saxophone-playing delivery guy, a physically-handicapped secret government scientist, and cross-dressing aliens.

You can find out exactly what’s happening by attending one of only three performances of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW during THIS weekend: Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 20th at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and the show is not recommended for those under the age of 18. The location of the Frankenstein Place is at the Alfresco Art Center, 2041 Delmar Avenue, Granite City, IL. Seating is limited and tickets are going fast, so to ensure you are able to get into the viewing area, it’s highly suggested that you purchase your tickets online ahead of time.
This is a live theatrical event and not the motion picture of a somewhat similar name (the movie was based upon the musical). Therefore, keep the water guns, toast, rice, etc. at home. However, small bags of props might be for sale and audience shout-outs are strongly encouraged. So, come on over, stop by, and join in the Time Warp. It’s just a jump to the left and a step to the right.

Are you ready to do The Time Warp? If you aren’t already familiar with it, just know that you will be by the time you leave. The show opens with the adorable (and very naïve) couple of Brad & Janet as they lose their way and find shelter at the home of Dr. Frank N Furter (a mad scientist from Transexual, Transylvania) who is anxiously awaiting your arrival so that he may present his creature!
The Hard Road “Rogue” Players have taken this show on the road and will be performing at the beautiful Alfresco Arts Center in Granite City. You’ll love the intimate atmosphere as you’re pulled into the show and are encouraged to sing along. Please feel free to dress the part. Adults over 21 may also enjoy a drink at the second floor speakeasy bar.
