As our 2017-18 season enters the rehearsal process for our final production this season, we’re already looking forward to and planning for next season. Hard Road has decided to re-open and extend the deadline to accept director applications for the 2018-19 season until Saturday, December 16th. If you have any interest in directing a show with Hard Road, we strongly suggest you complete our simple online application form. Even if you don’t want to direct next season, but are interested in directing in the future, please fill out the form and let us know. All submissions will be reviewed and vetted. Hard Road Theatre is proud to announce auditions for their winter musical: BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO. BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO is an original jukebox musical featuring Neil Sedaka songs. Set in the early 1960s, the plot of the show follows two friends, Lois and Marge, who travel to a resort in the Catskill mountains on Labor Day weekend to overcome a recent breakup. While there, romance flourishes in the most unusual places.
Auditions for BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO will be held on Sunday, November 12th and Monday, November 13th at 6:00 p.m. at the Highland Upper Elementary Auditorium, 1800 Lindenthal Ave., Highland, IL. There are roles for 3 men and 3 women. Those auditioning should come prepared with 16 measures of a Broadway-style piece that illustrates their vocal abilities. Those auditioning should also be prepared to learn a short dance routine and need to be aware of any conflicts they have through January 28th. An accompanist will be provided. No recordings will be allowed. Performances are scheduled for January 19th, 20th, 21st, 26th, and 27th.
